BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER KEVIN HARVICK:
What would it mean to be the first five-time winner at Texas?
“Any time you win a race it is always exciting, but going for a fifth win
at the same track means a lot. My first start at TMS I had a
top-10 finish. I am looking forward to bringing another win home
and my first win at Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI).”
Why have you been so dominant in the Nationwide Series at Texas
Motor Speedway?
“We’ve always run good here for some reason. I really like this
track. We don’t seem to qualify well, but we always seem to
finish great. It is one of those places that really fits with
what we do at KHI.”
You’re still looking for your first win driving your own car.
What would it mean to you to pick up you first win as
driver/owner at Texas Motor Speedway?
“I think it would be a great accomplishment for not only me, but
the entire organization. Although I’ve got some truck wins for
KHI to get my first Nationwide Series win for KHI and my fifth
Nationwide Series win at TMS on the same weekend would be
tremendous.”
How would you describe the racing at Texas?
“Texas is a fast track, it’s probably the biggest sensation of
speed other than a qualifying lap at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The
fans in Texas are outstanding. They say everything is bigger in
Texas and that’s pretty much true with everything that Texas
Motor Speedway has to offer.”
What are the keys to being successful at a fast track like
Texas?
“To be successful at Texas you have to have a good handling car
and great stops on pit road to maintain positions and move
forward through the field.”
