KHI Crew Member Spotlight:
Adam Crigger
Jackman,
No. 33 Camping World Chevy Silverado Race Team
Adam Crigger is
entering into his second year at Kevin Harvick, Inc (KHI). A
five year racing veteran, Crigger is the jackman for the No. 33
Camping World/VFW Chevrolet Silverado driven by 2007 NASCAR
Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday.
But that is just a part of his duties. He also works as a
mechanic while at the track, as he does during the week at the
shop. He also helps guide Hornaday into and out of the garage
stall during practice sessions, which he says is a lot like
being a spotter on top of the grandstands.
“Guiding the driver in and out of the garage is a pretty big
responsibility,” Crigger said. “You always have to be alert of
what other trucks are doing so your driver doesn’t back into
anyone else. You also have to keep the people in the garage area
alert and warn them when a truck will make that turn into a
stall.”
Before coming to KHI prior to the 2007 season, Crigger worked as
a mechanic and pit crew member at HT Motorsports, Sutton
Motorsports and Bill Davis Racing.
And as for his most memorable moment in racing, Crigger says it
has to be the night that the No. 33 team won the 2007 NASCAR
Truck Series championship at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.
“Winning a championship is the biggest thing you can do in
racing,” Crigger said. “To do what we did, coming from behind to
win, just goes to show that hard work definitely pays off in the
end.”
A resident of Asheboro, North Carolina, Crigger likes hunting,
fishing and riding his four-wheeler whenever he has free time. |
