KHI's No. 77 Busch Series team returned
for its second year of full-time competition in 2007 with a strong lineup of
drivers that included two multi-series Champions, Bobby
Labonte (Busch Series and Cup Series
Champion) and Kevin Harvick (two-time Busch Series Champion
and IROC Series Champion.)
Despite the challenge presented by six drivers sharing driving
duties, crew chief Wally Rogers guided the team to nine top-10
finishes, three top-fives and one win. The effort allowed
them to finish 15th in Busch Series points.
The highlight of the season was a thrilling, at-the-line victory
enjoyed by Bobby Labonte at Talladega Superspeedway in April.
After assisting KHI teammate, Tony Stewart, to the front of the
field, Labonte swung wide on the final turn, caught Stewart's 33
car, and passed it mere yards ahead of the finish line. It
was the first victory for the 77 team, and KHI's second one-two
finish at the Superspeedway.
The 2008 lineup for the No. 77 car will be announced soon!
