Teams
Defending four-time Truck Series champion, Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Longhorn Moist Snuff/Georiga Boot Chevrolet Silverado team return to uphold their Truck Series title in 2010. The team is back with new crew chief Dave Fuge to try and top last season’s record setting year in which they recorded six wins, five of them consecutive. They were the first team to win five consecutive races in 38 years of NASCAR racing. Hornaday added his name next to Richard Petty and Bobby Allison becoming only the third driver in NASCAR history to win five races in a row in any of NASCAR’s top three divisions. The team also tallied 15 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes on their way to KHI’s second Truck Series championship. Hornaday became the Truck Series’ only four-time champion. He joined Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson as only the fifth driver to ever win four titles in one of NASCAR’s three elite divisions. The team entered the Truck series in 2001 as a side project for Kevin and DeLana Harvick. KHI won its first Truck Series event in 2002 at Phoenix International Raceway with Harvick behind the wheel. In 2005 Ron Hornaday joined KHI scoring his first Truck Series win for the organization at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The following year, Hornaday built on his previous success recording two wins, 8 top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. In 2007, Hornaday raced to win four times and ended the year with 22 top-10 finishes, 13 of those being in the top-five. He also walked away with the championship hardware, recording KHI’s first Truck Series championship.
